Cognetix gets into the Halloween Spirit
Thursday, October 29th, 2009What should you do if you have an extra pumpkin and a few hours to waste. How about brand it with your logo? Dale Lanford did just that. But if you have more than a few extra pumpkins and many spare hours, try and carve a pumpkin like the guys over at the pumpkingutter. These guys are truly masters.

Also Dale’s daughter, Anna, decided she wanted to make her costume this year. She came up with this idea to be the house that fell on the wicked witch of the east.
So they went to work, first gathering cardboard, paint, exacto knife, and lots of hot glue sticks. We worked on cutting, painting and gluing for about 4 hours to get the initial house built.
One thing learned during this project is that Anna can be dangerous with a hot glue gun. She quickly learned that “hot” was to be taken literally and only burned herself once.
We later added the flowers of Munchkin land that really help give it a good base. We had to add shoulder pads to make the costume comfortable to wear.
Here is what the house looked like when we finished.

And here is the complete costume along with tornado wig. Notice the poor cow caught in the twister.
